Happy Anniversary!

It's been just over a year since Muddy Williamson first appeared in the blogosphere following the JALC Board of Trustees Candidates Forum in February 2013.  We've made 58 posts, had over 350 comments, and are closing in on 27,000 hits!

Our original purpose of changing the face of the JALC Board of Trustees was accomplished with the defeat of John O'Keefe and the election of Cheryl Graff.

Board members with integrity continue to step up to deal with the antics of Brewer, Rendleman and Kilquist.  It's not perfect, but it's better.

We will leave this blog open for comments, but we won't be making additional posts for now.  Before the cheering from our detractors starts, remember that we have had an impact.   JALC taxpayers will continue to keep a watchful eye on the Board.  And there will be more elections and just like Arnold, Muddy Williamson will be back.

  1. Such a terrible shame. So much to comment on....and no stomach by the creators of this vehicle to spearhead efforts to demand change. I believed in all of you who authored this blog. I believed you were in it for the long haul to expose the Logan BOT as a group of political hacks who put their own interests in front of the good of the college and its students. But it appears that the state university retirement system has intervened to make quitting more attractive than fighting. Goodbye Muddy Williamson.....you may have won a battle....but you quit on the war.

Who? Name a topic or a trustee who has stood up to these three?

Go out with a whimper, MW.

  4. And it's a two-fer. How will JAL find TWO qualified vice presidents? Hmmm... maybe Randy Dunn is ready to leave SIU.

  9. billy boy on his way...Madigan and Brewers boy won the primary! real close to seeing if his promise of quitting the Logan Board AGAIN for this position comes true..please vote for him in November election! We need a good replacement for him...board members as a whole; start getting your suggestions available to give to Mr. Brewer and Mr. Rendleman...you know they already have a yes man in line

  10. Right, lol, they LOVE suggestions! If there are any decent members with any clout, they will push for the next-highest vote getter from the last election, which I think was Snyder.

  11. You "think" is Snyder......come on....how decent are you with no agenda I presume....and after bashing Kilquist and even saying a new state rep couldn't get anything done....how simple minded....if Kilquist gets nothing done for Logan in 2 years that will equal what our Lt Gov from S Ill got for us in 4 years

  12. it was Snyder and Kilquist cannot even accomplish as much as Lt Gov did for southern Illinois... as far as an agenda; you are right I have none -I am not like some of the board members who always has an agenda...for their own benefits!

  13. You keep telling yourself that you have no agenda. One of these days you just might believe it, Gum by.

  16. just wondering since Kilquist and Rendleman took all the praise for those new uniforms the security people are wearing if they took the time to ask those people if they wanted them in the first place. Did the school pay for them or did each guard have to pay for them. I know for a fact they cannot wait to get out of them and get to the more comfortable and cooler polo shirts.

  17. You're a champion in your own mind, MW. It must suck to live with the fact that Kilquist is a champion in reality.

    1. Kilquist is a champion in reality. I am sure he did a good "political" job as a sheriff but as a politician Kilquist is merely a Legend in time in his OWN mind.

  18. Wow...1.7 million owed back to state for payments on Rec center participants..Just wondered why they came after Logan now since it has been going on forever and other colleges do the same thing. I think I smell some discontent with Jake Rendleman being on that Illinois board and other people went after Logan due to their dislike in Rendleman.. Great way to receive funds...if you aren't caught...State should have gone back several more years when it started..Who was the President of College then? What board members were active at that time? Yes we all know who the board was then.. Finally they got squeezed.

  19. If you don't know the facts, why do you even post speculation? Check the facts on who was/is directly in charge of the CHEC. The deception lies directly with those that work and have direct supervisory roles (Dean/V.P.) of the CHEC. Those folks are the saviors of bringing in more credit hours (albeit illegally)...it has nothing to do directly with any BOT or the ICCB having a grudge with a BOT from JALC.
