Interesting reading from all of the blogs and the Southern Illinoisan eviscerating everyone including Herb Russell, Larry Peterson, Russell Williams, Bill Kilquist, the O'Keefe's, the Snider's, the Brewer's, Cheryl Graff, Michael Van Horn, Chuck Hamilton, Russell Williams, Gary Highland, Bob Mees, Jake Rendleman, John Huffman and Mike Dreith in this Logan election. Have I left anyone out? In thinking about this whole ordeal I can think of one person who seems to walk away unscathed and that person would be Perry Knop. You see, Perry was number 3 on the list when he was hired at Logan and not number 1. At least 2 phone calls were made in support of Perry. One by Glen Poshard to board member Les McCullum and another by Paul Simon (Perry's father-in-law) to Ray Hancock. In no time, Perry's name was moved to the number 1 position and he was hired. He now cancels classes and office hours on his students to follow his wife, Sheila Simon, around the country and state while she attempts to fulfill her Lt. Governor duties. Speaking of evisceration, Ms. Simon has totally turned her back on her constituents here and destroyed the lives and careers of many of us in southern Illinois while she goes to Chicago to play her banjo for them. Let us too remember Ms. Simon in any future election she wants to participate in. Heck, she couldn't even get elected as Mayor for the City of Carbondale and had to be appointed to the position she has now.
Excuse me, but NO ONE "eviscerated" Dr. Dreith. No one. And those old old old claims about Knop... so what? Even if true (and it doesn't sound like Paul Simon), it's not part of the pattern of insider dealings that this board must answer for. If Ray Hancock acted out of some chicken shit belief that there would be political or fiscal repercussions, that's his problem. And how unbelievably petty to bring someone's wife into this. Dirtbag.
She isn't just someone's wife. She's an elected official, too. Isn't this blog about holding elected officials accountable and uncovering dead weight at the College?
If you just concentrate on the real problem with the JALC BOARD and its members it will get you alot further. Were true facts presented to the community? Were changes and are changes needed so the college doesn't get a black eye in the community and the morale of the staff improves? Why start pointing the fingers at certain members of the faculty unless you are fans of the board members who are under fire? Correct the problem and then will be no sarcasm, etc. Eliminate the image of political favors and nepotism is almost over 2/3 of the way so far with 1/3 left to go. Stop blaming certain people at the school for exposing the truth..I got the information from citizens,several disgruntled staff members in a variety of departments and ADMINISTRATORS.. seems like unless your a big supporter of the problem Board Members it shouldn't matter where the information was received I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL INFORMATION I GAVE OUT BLAME ME..

DeleteSounds like there are some new claims against Knop, now. Everyone is fair game here. Doesn't seem like you can pick and choose who you want attacked.
